Set in 350 acres of what was once the great Keavil Estate, the Forrester Park Resort has set exceptional standards – but these aren’t necessarily on the golf course!
The abiding memory you take away of Forrester Park is of its majestic clubhouse. Forrester Park has placed an emphasis on the décor, facilities and service within its sumptuous clubhouse - and they are outstanding! In fact, Forrester Park is a good model for the rest of Scottish golf. If you go abroad these days, these are the standards you encounter – it’s perhaps time Scotland woke up and offered its visitors something similar.
The course gathers mixed reviews and some of the holes remain a bit quirky. From the white tees and with added length of late, Forrester Park is coming on but be prepared from some idiosyncratic elements such as you meet at the 1st. Given recent improvements though the course should prove a reasonable host to the National Boys Open Team Championship in September 2005. The route canters over rolling ground with a significant watery presence on around 9 holes. Greens have been constructed to full U.S.G.A. specification and are quite firm, often raised and markedly undulating so putting is never easy.
All bookings must be made in advance, play may be restricted, for instance, at weekends, handicap certificates may be required.
Course Summary
18 holes, 6296 yds, par 72, sss 72
